Post Specifics of Rules reguarding... Reply with quote
Hello all, i am a local player in hopes of joining the fledgling experiance, but before i do, there are a few answers i am looking for. Anyones help on these topics will be greatly appreciated.

1.) As the usage of field paint is required, i was hopeing to find out exactly what brand of paint is used. This is a concern for me as my primary weapon is a REALLY expensive set up and is also VERY "choosy" with the paint it prefers.. as such i am hesitant to pay for the travel and registration, if the field paint will make for more troubles than game play.

2.) What are the specifics of .43 cal platforms? are they allowed, and it there corrisponding field paint for them as well?

3.) As a scinario game is different than a tactical game, are there restrictions as to how many platforms a player can carry/use in the game?

4.) Has anyone seen any "active" tactical arenas in Colorado in the past few years? I recall there used to be one located in Denver a number of years ago, but since then i have not seen or heard of any at all.. this is a real downer for me as i finally have decent tactical setup and am forced to partake in much "woodsball", though woodsball is fun.... its just.. well... not a real tactical field. I cant imagine trying to explain to airport security that i am going to california to play tactical paintball in California, lol.

Thank you everyone for your time and responses, hope to see you on the field sometime. -Kathulu

I hope that you can understand that we do not release the information about what paint we are using. Last game it was a PMI Custom paint. And that was because when the truck brought in the game paint, as I can recall (and I may be a little unsure on this) the supplier called me and told me that he had to send the paint back and we had to make a last minute adjustment to something different. What I can say is that is will be a mid-grade paint. Tourney paint is too brittle for high pressure markers (as well as expensive), and low end paint just plain sucks. So it WILL be a mid grade paint, that is all that I know as of now. I will be fishing with the paint supplier next week, so I should know a bit more then.

No .43 cal paint allowed. This is strictly a .68 cal standard paintball event.

No limitations on the number of guns you can carry. I usually carry two when I play, sometimes a main marker and a brace of AGD Sydearms.

No info on a tactical field, but play tactical if you wish. There are a number of tactical teams coming.

What's a tactical field? For some reason I thought you could play tactical anywhere. When I was in the 1st Cav, we did not worry about where as much as who.

well, in my perception of "tactical" fields, there is more restriction on game play, also there tends to me more close quarters combat/building takedown and scenario mission objectives. To obtain more information consider visiting www.tacten.com they will supply basic information and formats. There used to be a 3 story office building in Denver a number of years ago that was used for paintball arena and police/military training excercises. also in cali there are a number of fields used for such formatted gameplay, some have multiple layouts so it is almost like playing a counter-strike map rotation.

As far as the pant goes, that is a bummer that you will not allow off field paint. Depending on the application i use two types of paint, Nelsons Anarchy paint i special order online at about $50-$70/500 rounds and use only in my primary, though my .68 cal second i use xball inferno pro tourney runs about $60-80/2000ct. thing is my primary is mag fed so it is not easy to find paint that works out well. Buying a 2000 ct box will usually last me through a good 70-100 matches as i only carry 5 magazines with average load out of 75 rounds. though i will carry a quick loader with a good 100 or so just in case i need to reload a mag or two. the chaper stuff i use in my pistol.

It takes a lot of money to have a tactical team that competes professionally, and as such usually winning championship tournements lands pots uppwards of millions of dollars. speedball is more spray and pray than anything else, and seems over done considering its exposure, though i love playing against speedballers cause they all have the "a-type" personality that includes being over confident and usually cocky attitudes. funny thing is no matter how the game goes down, every person that plays paintball calls out when they cant see through their mask. Wink

I am sorry if I do not seem myself, I am in Ukraine right now waiting to catch my flight to Moscow in a couple of hours. But most military and police training teach tactics, and on any field (Urban, Desert, Jungle, Woodland, etc...). Did you know that most National Military's in the world use paintball training? Steve Risken, Eric Engler, Andy Van der Plaats, and Ray Adams could speak more clearly on that than I could. It was Andy that got me on Ft. Bragg to meet with several members of the 7th Special Forces Group about paintball training.

I have never been a field owner, and soon I will be out of the paintball business and just a common paintball player the way I started, but I am a Army Veteran and usually in the Army we played the hand we were dealt.

You can play Tactical anywhere, any field, any game. Ask SitRepRed, or the Sun Spiders. Or 5150. I've run with SitRepRed at one of the Corn Maze games, those guys are incredible. Check those guys out, you may wish to run with them.

Sometimes there are still games at Camp Blanding, it is a Florida National Guart MOUT site, and sometimes there is a game in Alabama at a MOUT site.

Ft. Campbell used to allow use of Craig Village, their older MOUT site, but not any more.

The problem is that there is not much profit in paintball. A good Urban site can cost over a million dollars to build, easily. THe normal profit on paintball is about 5%. And players want to compare the cost of what they can play in their fathers field to the cost of playing on a $5 million dollar site. The multi-million dollar facility cannot compete.

Therefore, no one is willing to sink that kind of money into building something that have very little chance of succeeding.
